IN WHICH CASE IS THE DRUG ACETYLCYSTEINE RATIOPHARM CONSEIL PRESCRIBED?
This medication thins the secretions (phlegm) present in the bronchi. It facilitates their evacuation by coughing.
It is used in case of wet cough with difficulty in spitting, especially during acute bronchitis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF THE DRUG ACETYLCYSTEINE RATIOPHARM COUNCIL
This medicine should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
ATTENTION
This medicine can only be used on medical advice in the event of chronic bronchitis in adults or chronic respiratory disease in children.
Precautions are necessary in case of ulcer of the stomach or duodenum .
In case of fever, secretions that persist beyond a few days or that become colored, consult your doctor.
Do not use a cough suppressant in addition to this medicine without the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.
These sachets contain sugar ( sucrose ) in significant quantities.
INTERACTIONS OF THE DRUG ACETYLCYSTEINE RATIOPHARM COUNCIL WITH OTHER SUBSTANCES
Inform your doctor if you are taking a nitrate or a medicine containing carbamazepine or charcoal.
A delay of at least 2 hours must be respected between taking this medication and taking antibiotics
FERTILITY, PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
PREGNANCY :
The effect of this drug during pregnancy is not well known. The assessment of the possible risk linked to its use is individual: ask your pharmacist or your doctor for advice.
FEEDING WITH MILK :
The use of this drug is possible during lactation.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE OF THE DRUG ACETYLCYSTEINE RATIOPHARM COUNCIL
This medication can be taken with or without meals.
The contents of the sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water.
USUAL DOSE:
Adult and child over 7 years old : 1 sachet, 3 times a day.
Child from 2 to 7 years old : 1 sachet, 2 times a day.
Treatment can be discontinued as soon as symptoms improve . Its duration should not exceed 8 to 10 days without medical advice.
TIPS
The medicine can sometimes have a slight sulfur odor: it is due to acetylcysteine and should not worry you.
Smoking, or being exposed to other people's smoke, is a major barrier to the evacuation of phlegm.
It is necessary to fight against the dryness of the ambient air (humidifier, etc.) to prevent the secretions from drying out. It is also recommended to drink a lot.
In the elderly or young child, the inability to evacuate sputum may justify the help of a physiotherapist, on medical prescription.

Skin allergic reaction (itching, rash , hives ...).
Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea , requiring a reduction in doses.
Worsening of bronchial congestion and risk of respiratory complications, especially in infants .
