Why is aconite called Queen of poison?
As little as 2 milligrams of aconitine is enough to kill an average human. Depending on the species, and the source, this could be less than 1 gram of Monkshood. Queen of Poisons indeed. Historically, there have been several high profile murders involving aconitine.

Aconite roots are eaten as root vegetables and used to prepare herbal soups and meals, mainly for their purported beneficial effects. Severe or even fatal Aconitum alkaloid poisoning can occur after consumption of herbal soups and foods prepared from aconite roots.
