Treatment and prevention of antibiotics for people with inflammation or urinary tract infection during catheterization

It is not recommended to use antibiotics as a preventive treatment in the case of the use of catheters, as it may increase the emergence of microbes resistant to treatment, with the treatment of patients who have symptoms of infection only.
Patients with inflammation or urinary tract infection during catheterization or surgery should be treated with appropriate antibiotics according to the microbial sensitivity test for antibiotics. If this test is not available, an antibiotic will be administered as prescribed or after consultation with the treating physician.
