IN WHICH CASE IS THE DRUG ACTIVELLE PRESCRIBED?
This medication contains estradiol, intended to correct an estrogen deficiency , and norethisterone, a progestogen which has a protective effect on the uterus.
It is used to treat certain symptoms of menopause (hot flushes, vaginal dryness, etc.) and to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF THE DRUG ACTIVELLE
thromboembolic accident ( phlebitis , pulmonary embolism, etc.) occurring during treatment;
hormone-dependent cancer ;
intermittent genital bleeding (the origin of this bleeding must be determined by examinations before starting treatment);
severe liver disease;
pregnancy ;
breastfeeding .
ATTENTION
Studies have shown an increased risk of developing breast cancer in women who received prolonged treatment for menopausal symptoms . Treatment should therefore be prescribed at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest possible duration. In the absence of disorders, its prescription should not be systematic.
An initial assessment followed by regular medical supervision is necessary, especially in the following cases: arterial hypertension , diabetes , benign tumor of the liver or uterus, endometriosis , cholelithiasis , migraines , epilepsy , asthma , otosclerosis , renal insufficiency or cardiac, hypertriglyceridaemia , systemic lupus erythematosus , obesity , family history of breast cancer or thromboembolic accident.
Stop taking this medication and consult your doctor if any of the following symptoms appear : severe and unusual headaches, jaundice, significant rise in blood pressure , painful swelling of a leg, shortness of breath brutal.
If you have to undergo surgery or remain bedridden, tell your doctor; it may be necessary to temporarily stop treatment.
INTERACTIONS OF THE DRUG ACTIVELLE WITH OTHER SUBSTANCES
The effectiveness of the treatment may be reduced by taking an enzyme-inducing drug at the same time .
FERTILITY, PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Given the indications, this drug is not used in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE OF THE DRUG ACTIVELLE
Take 1 tablet per day, preferably at the same time, without interruption between 2 packs.
TIPS
Irregular genital bleeding may also occur during the first 2 or 3 months of treatment; if this bleeding persists longer, consult your doctor.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUG ACTIVELLE
Headaches, breast tension, vaginal candidiasis , fatigue, insomnia, depression , increased blood pressure , abdominal pain, bloating , nausea, itching, edema, weight gain.
Intermittent genital bleeding (report to your doctor).
Clinical trials involving long-term treatment combining an estrogen and a progestogen have shown increased risks of benign or malignant tumor of the breast or uterus, thromboembolic accident, gallbladder stones, spots dark on the face.
How many mg of estrogen should I take for HRT?
Adults—2.5 to 7.5 mg a day. This dose may be divided up and taken in smaller doses. Your doctor may want you to take the medicine each day or only on certain days of the month.
What is normal estradiol level on HRT?
Results are given in picograms per milliliter (pg/mL). Normal levels for estradiol are: 30 to 400 pg/mL for premenopausal women. 0 to 30 pg/mL for postmenopausal women.
What is the normal range for estradiol levels on HRT?
