Side effects of cancer treatment.. Oral congestion, sore throat, loss of appetite, problems in the gums and teeth, and a change in taste and mouth senses



When a doctor diagnoses the type of cancer, he tells you about the nature of the treatment. Which include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of two. These treatments kill cancer cells and therefore destroy some healthy cells, which causes side effects of treatment that affect your nutritional status.
Some of these symptoms:
- Anorexia.
- Change in weight (increase or decrease).
- Oral and throat congestion.
- dry mouth.
Problems with gums and teeth.
- Change in taste and mouth senses.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Diarrhea, constipation.
- Lack of tolerance of lactose (milk sugar).
- Fatigue and depression.
You may have one or some of these complications and you probably will not get any of them and this depends on many factors such as: Type of cancer where the treatment of cancer type, duration, amount or dose of treatment.
These symptoms often appear for a short period of time and soon disappear at the end of treatment. Your doctor will tell you about the chance and severity of your symptoms.
