Imperialism and Genetic Piracy.. Change the function of biological genes by adding genes that have new and desirable genetic traits or remove genes with unwanted genetic traits

Genetic engineering has been characterized by the fact that humans - for the first time in history - have the means to propagate the genetic stock contained in all living organisms, whether plants, animals, or microorganisms, to the satisfaction of their ambitions; that is, genetic kits or genotypes of different life images can be placed On the table of genetic processes to become genetic engineering to create variations in known genes, which are a natural result of the evolution of life in order to change their biological functions by adding genes with new genetic traits and desirable or remove genes with undesirable genetic traits. All of this ultimately leads to the replacement of the genetic potential of the living organism. Hence, genetic engineering is entirely dependent on the genetic structures and kits found in natural genetic material. Scientists travel around the earth looking for medically and scientifically useful organisms, a process critics call "gene pirating". Some consider this a genetic imperialism similar to the exploitation of mineral wealth in exchange for a small return for the original landowners. Under the Convention on Biological Diversity, primitive people - as nature guards - must receive a return for what pharmaceutical companies and scientific institutions do to develop products that rely on traditional resources. But pharmaceutical companies rarely pass part of their share of profits to countries that have contributed to the provision of genetic material.
