The tooth:
The tooth in the longitudinal section consists of an upper part, Crown, and an underside, the root, called the area where the crown meets the root with the neck.
The tooth contains a cavity called the pulp cavity, which opens in a channel called the root canal, which in turn opens at the end of the root with an opening called the apical foramen. The tooth is composed of dentine, which surrounds the cerebral cavity.
Crown ivory is covered with a thick layer of Enamel and with suitable lighting, lines in the enamel called lines of Retzies, which represent variations in enamel deposition ratio, can be seen.
