Retardability and its importance in the diagnosis of asthma (Reversibility test)
The main idea in asthma is its reversibility. If diagnosed, the disease is diagnosed.
- This phenomenon exists only in asthma and distinguish it from other diseases where the same asthma symptoms in particular the elderly smokers, a chronic obstructive disease channels aerobic (COPD), which is irreversible disease, with symptoms that are similar to asthma completely.
- The phenomenon of decline in asthma can be diagnosed in one of two ways:
A) Narrow aerial channels. Specific tests are used to expand these channels, such as bronchodilator examination, which results in low readings in the device followed by high reading after the use of dilators.
B - wide channels of air falling back to become narrow, such as measuring the high blowing capacity before the sport and then decline after the sport.
- If the reading device of the maximum air blowing capacity is high and we want to diagnose the disease we use the sport method to see this reading go down or not?
- If the reading of the device is low and we want to diagnose, we use the method of air diffusers to see whether the reading rises or not.
The Reversibility test is the one that diagnoses asthma and is either narrow or wide narrow air ducts.
