Atropine sulfate:
Injection (solution for injection), atropine sulfate 600 μg per ml, ampoule 1 ml.
Uses: to inhibit secretion of saliva; to discourage arrhythmia resulting from excessive vaginal nerve stimulation; to block non-histologic effects of cholinesterase, such as neostigmine; organic phosphorus poisoning and anticoagulants;
Contraindications: glaucoma occlusion of the corner; muscular dystrophy, paralysis, paralysis of the doorman;
Precautions: Down syndrome, children, elderly; ulcerative colitis; diarrhea; hyperthyroidism; heart failure; hypertension; pregnancy and breast feeding.
Duration: Since the duration of atropine is less than the neostigmine, it may result in late and non-antagonizing the heart; careful monitoring of the patient is necessary.
Dosage:
Pre-anesthesia, by intramuscular injection 30-60 min before induction, ADULT and CHILD 20 micrograms per kg; intravenous injection prior to direct induction, ADULT up to a maximum of 500 μg.
