The home environment in the first year of life is very important:

- Infant nutrition and early introduction of sensitive foods play a role.
- air pollution.
- Early use of care homes.
- Early use of broad spectrum antibiotics.
- Birth completely before spring and frequent pollen.
They all seem to contribute to sensitization.
