Relationship of periodic and biological systems to mood disorders. Changes in circulatory systems in animals in response to sunlight, estrogens, antidepressants and lithium salts

A delay in REM sleep and an increase in its depth is normal in the first half of the sleep cycle in severe depression. There has been a transient improvement of depressive mood under the influence of sleep deprivation therapy. Some mood disorders were treated positively by increasing exposure to light. Changes in circulatory systems in animals were observed in response to sunlight and for the treatment of estrogens, antidepressants and lithium salts.
