A fungal infection is usually caused by inhalation, usually through skin lesions, which is called pink-growers disease, a characteristic of the pink skin lesion that spreads among the farmers. The disease causes Sporothrix schenkii.
Cats play an important role in this infection, as the fungus is found in skin lesions and abscesses in cats and can infect humans through proper skin.
