The 10 biggest taboos of pregnancy:
Yes, of course, living a pregnancy is completely magical and a very special time in a woman's life. And there is no doubt that it is worth a thousand times the trouble! But we hear most of all about the magical or cute sides of pregnancy.
There is also another side; the one we do not talk about much, but we might have liked to know before we knew him to know what to expect. Here are 10 of the biggest taboos related to pregnancy.
Note: no pregnancy is the same and it is certain that we should not expect that all these phenomena occur each time! To take with a good grain of salt and a certain dose of humor.

1- Constipation:
Progesterone, which is much higher than usual, can slow down digestion and intestinal transit, preventing you from evacuating well. Not obvious when you feel already swollen and the baby is hanging down your stomach. Regardless of their normal rhythm, most pregnant women will experience this discomfort at one level or another. Caution: Chronic constipation (and childbirth) can also cause anal fissures.
While we are in this subject, 50% of pregnant women develop hemorrhoids, either during pregnancy or after childbirth.

2- Unbridled libido
The hormone cocktail is much more pronounced than usual during pregnancy, in addition to the fact that the extra blood flow (about 50% more than normal) makes the sensations much stronger. Many women experience their most intense orgasms during their pregnancies and their libido is literally tenfold. Not obvious at the beginning when you are sick and tired, nor at the end when most positions are no longer possible.
Who said that all things we do not talk about were bad? This is obviously a good side, but still a huge taboo.
And then many women would do without it, especially in the case of erotic dreams very intense and very disturbing.

3- Yeast infections:
This is another very common problem during pregnancy, probably because of high progesterone levels. There is no risk for the baby, even if it is not exactly pleasant for the mother. Most pharmacy treatments can be used even during pregnancy, but ... even though they may provide relief, this does not mean that they will cure the infection. Yes, some women live with a chronic infection for several months, if not most of their pregnancy. In this case, the only cure that works is ... childbirth.

4- The mucous plug:
A few days before giving birth, you may lose something ... really strange. As the name suggests, it is mucus that accumulates early in pregnancy, to seal the cervix and protect it (so the baby) against infections. In addition to acting as a barrier, this mucus contains antibodies that act as additional protection.
Finding this plug in your underwear, in the shower or the toilet means that the work is about to begin.

5- The loss of your own body:
Did you think that when you were pregnant, everyone would protect you and pamper you like a princess? Here is what is likely to happen: your body will not belong to you anymore.
Not only because a little being has taken root, transforming your body more and more in many ways ... After all, this little being, you like it.
But it is known, a pregnant woman becomes a public property. That you have the right to touch at will (the strangers who flatter you every day belly, it can become unpleasant) and especially to judge and to lecture as it pleases. Do you exercise? It's probably too hard for the baby! You do not exercise? Tsk-tsk. Do you dare to wear heels (not too high and comfortable) for a party? You can be sure that many people will look down on you and even remonstrate you directly. You decide to toast with a few sips of wine to accompany others on a special occasion? Horrible scandal!

6- The vampirization of your oral hygiene:
Since you are pregnant, you will not have your period for at least a year. But that does not mean that you will not see blood anymore.
A lot more blood volume can give nice surprises when flossing. Indeed, the swelling of the gums is so common that almost 75% of pregnant women suffer from gingivitis! Some women bleed profusely just because they brush their teeth!
Sudden and very impressive nosebleeds can be on the agenda.

7- Morning sickness?
Unfortunately, they do not arrive only in the morning. Some women live them all day, every day, for months. It's like living the worst aftermath of your life constantly, repeatedly, no matter what you do or what you eat.
It is quite rare, but in the most extreme cases, it is possible to suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum, a complication that requires hospitalization to ensure that the mother remains hydrated and that the baby continues to develop. This has been the case, for example, of Princess Kate for her two pregnancies. This is definitely one of the worst side effects of pregnancy.
It is between the 8th week and the 14th week of pregnancy that women are most likely to have nausea, but there is no constant. And then, about a third of pregnant women are not sick at all.

8- Heartburn:
Towards the end, your days will probably be divided as follows: what is the best way to spread all the Tums you have the right to take in 24 hours to minimize the feeling of perpetual fire as much as possible?
This is the fault of your esophagus a little too relaxed (see point 10) and also due to the fact that your digestive tract, like all your organs, becomes more and more compressed.

9- Incontinence:
From the second half of pregnancy, toilet visits for urination will become more frequent. MUCH more frequent.
But that's not all! Because of the constant pressure on your uterus, you may not be able to control your urge perfectly.

10- Relaxin:
It is a hormone secreted towards the end of pregnancy, which allows the ligaments and muscles of the pelvic area to relax, in anticipation of the expulsion of a melon through an orifice the size of a lemon. This is a good thing, we get along.
But the problem with relaxin is that it does not only affect your pelvis, but also all over your body. It can make your feet grow one or two sizes at once (and it's irreversible), it relaxes the esophagus, which causes constant acid reflux (see point 8) and in a general way it makes walking and movement more difficult.
In some cases, relaxin may also cause separation of the abdominal muscles. Another beautiful irreversible effect that comes as a bonus with the baby!
