The quaternary ammonium salts contain cation of quaternary nitrogen (R1R2R3R4N) where R1R2R3R4 represents the same or different chrysanthemums (methyl, ethel).
This cation can combine with OH-H and then give the quadrilateral ammonium hydroxide and its general symbol group (R4N-OH), which corresponds to its inorganic equivalent: ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH).
However, saturation can be done with other anions (chloride, bromide, iodide, etc.), resulting in quaternary ammonium salts.
