Human behavior is always the result of a complex combination of stimuli emitted by the environment and responses coming from the individual. It is the result of many variables, both motivational and instrumental.
Among the operating variables of conduct, affectivity holds a special place, and plays a dual essential role:
- It generates know-how
Through its development and education, affectivity leads to the establishment of behavioral reactions. It develops interpersonal skills that complement the range of psychomotor and cognitive skills.
It regulates the action
Affectivity is omnipresent during motor and cognitive actions: it is often the motor, the motivation, but it is also the support and regulator of the emotional states produced by the search for a better overall adaptation.
Affective reactions accompany, as a counterpoint, most human acts. These can be analyzed according to two different aspects:
- Representative appearance
- It is essentially the objective and intellectual knowledge of things.
- “I perceive the fruit that I taste with qualities that characterize it in itself: color, shape, dimensions, flavor, smell, consistency, etc., which allow it to be recognized as an apple. »
- Affective aspect
- It translates the subjective values that the situation presents for a specific person...
