Abortion is a global phenomenon. The number of abortions practiced is serious or covert

The total number of involuntary pregnancies in 2003 was approximately 42 million:
29 voluntary obstruction per 1000 women of childbearing age.
This figure is 12% in Western Europe, 17% in Northern Europe, 18% in Southern Europe, 21% in the United States and Canada, and 44% in Eastern Europe.
- In France alone, there are about 200,000 abortions per year, or 14 women per 1000 women between the ages of 15 and 49.
- This percentage was significantly reduced in 1995, with 46 million cases being miscarried for women in childbearing age.
- If the percentage is known to decline between 1995 and 2003, the number of abortions performed in a dangerous or confidential manner has exceeded 20 million cases worldwide, and this has risen to 10% in Africa.
