Diabetic must go to the doctor in "sick days for a diabetic" in the following cases:
* If you suffer from the symptoms of high blood sugar (Hyperglycaemia), like very tired or thirst or urinate constantly.
* If you notice signs of infection, irritation or swelling, discharge (material) from a wound.
* If you no longer take the tablets usual pain killers have any effect.
* If you are suffering from a high temperature for a period exceeding 24 hours. * If you suffer from diabetes which treatment depends on insulin (type 1) and indicate the presence of acetone compounds in the urine, it is a sign of a blood acidity caused by diabetes.
* If the ratio remains high blood sugar for 24 hours.
* If you have doubts about your general health and want to be reassured.
